Orienteering option 2

For this option we would split the year group in half, and have half orienteer in the morning and the other half in the afternoon. This means no transport logistics, no fee for the children to use Haldon, and we stay at school.

Morning session – Group 1

0900 – Meet at school, children arrive.

0910 – Introduction to the day, aims, safety.

0915 – First Orienteering skill/Map Drawing at/ school

1000 – Star Orienteering at school

1045 – Break time

1100 – Orienteering Competition begins at school

1145- Orienteering to finish and certificates given out

 

Afternoon session – Group 2

1230 – Meet at school, children arrive. Walk to school

1240 – Introduction to the day, aims, safety.

1245 – First Orienteering skill/Map Drawing at school

1330 – Star Orienteering on cricket field

1415 – Orienteering Competition begins on school

1500- Orienteering to finish and certificates given out

 

Option 3

For this option we would stay on the school site throughout the whole day, no transport issues, lower costs, less H&S to worry about! We can do this with a whole year group at a time as well, so added competition and fun!

0900 – Meet at school, children arrive.

0910 – Introduction to the day, aims, safety.

0915 – First Orienteering skill/Map Drawing

1000 – Fitness for Orienteering

1045- Break time

1100 – Star orienteering at School

1200 – Lunchtime at School

1300 – Intro & Safety briefing to the afternoon

1310 – Orienteering Competition starts at the school

1500 – Orienteering to finish and certificates given out
