Aims:
- To develop understanding of the Olympic values
- To experience competitive situations and dealing with winning and losing
- To work as a team and experience different Olympic Sports
0910 – Introduction into the day/safety/expectations
0920 – Meet a future Olympian, question time.
0930 – Olympic values and what is the Olympics. Olympic Ring drawing and making, representing a country (before the day starts each child will be assigned to a team). They will need to draw and colour the olympic rings and pick 3 facts about that country to write on the back of it.
Split class up into teams, pick a flag bearer for the team
0955 – Opening ceremony from classroom to the hall. Music playing here.
1000 – Indoor Olympics – Teams to compete in a series of activities throughout the morning
1100 – Breaktime
1115 – Indoor Olympics continues
1200 – Medal & Certificate ceremony
1210 – Changed for swimming
1220 – Lunchtime
1330 – Leave to go to swimming pool
1400 – Aquathlon centre – Swimming pool activities. Use of a local pool to take part in fun swimming based activities. Competing as an individual and a team.
1450 – Return from swimming pool back to school
1510 – Certificates & Medal ceremony
