Aim:
- To develop orienteering skills
- To improve teamwork and communication
- To be able to follow instructions
Layout of the day:
We will need to have a number of members of staff for Haldon. These adults will have to stick with each group and carry out the orienteering course with them, so walking/running whichever the group can do.
0900 – Meet at school, children arrive.
0910 – Introduction to the day, aims, safety.
0915 – First Orienteering skill/Map Drawing on courts at school
1000 – Fitness for Orienteering on courts at school
1045- Break time
1100 – Star orienteering at School
1150 – Collection of children’s belongings ready to transfer to the minibus/cars/transport
1200 – Transfer to Haldon Forest
1220 – Arrive at Haldon Forest
1230 – Packed Lunch at Haldon
1300 – Intro & Safety briefing to the afternoon
1315 – Orienteering to begin
1430 – Orienteering to finish and certificates given out
1445 – Return to minibuses/cars
1450 – Return to School
1510 – Arrive at School
